Conserving mid-Michigan's natural, scenic, recreational and agricultural lands

The easement covers approximately 80 acres. Approximately three-fourths of the easement area is floodplain forest and the remaining area is agricultural land. Of particular conservation significance is that the floodplain forest is the same type of system mapped by surveyors in the early 1800s. Another significant conservation feature of the easement is the protection of over 200 feet of the Thornapple River.
